PSTA, FOP, PPFA Endorse Rafferty for AG
HARRISBURG – Today Senator John Rafferty announced his campaign for Pennsylvania Attorney General at the Pennsylvania State Troopers Headquarters in Harrisburg.
The Pennsylvania State Troopers Association (PSTA), Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) and the Pennsylvania Professional Firefighters Association (PPFA) announced their endorsement of Senator Raffer
ty’s campaign for Attorney General.
Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati joined Pennsylvania’s law enforcement community in support of Senator Rafferty’s campaign. It was announced that Senator Scarnati and Republican National Committeeman Bob Asher are serving as Honorary Co-Chairs of the Rafferty for AG Campaign.
“I have three priorities. Keeping Pennsylvanians safe, protecting their tax dollars and fighting for those who can’t fight for themselves,” Senator Rafferty said. “My education and experience makes me uniquely qualified to lead the Attorney General’s office and accomplish the important work to keep Pennsylvania families safe.”
Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati added, “Senator John Rafferty is a dedicated public servant and will make an outstanding Attorney General. I am proud to endorse his candidacy for Attorney General.”
Pennsylvania State Troopers Association President Joe Kovel said, “Senator Rafferty has been a tireless advocate for the law enforcement community and his top priority is fighting to keep Pennsylvanians safe. The Pennsylvania State Troopers Association is proud to stand with Senator Rafferty’s campaign for Attorney General.”
Fraternal Order of Police President Les Neri said, “Senator Rafferty has repeatedly endorsed and supported legislation that enables people to enjoy a safe and prosperous environment and help law enforcement to accomplish its mission more safely.”
Senator John C. Rafferty, Jr. represents the residents of Pennsylvania’s 44th Senatorial District, which includes parts of Berks, Chester and Montgomery counties. He was re-elected for a fourth term in the Senate in November of 2014.
A former Pennsylvania State Deputy Attorney General, the Montgomery County native has a record of strengthening laws against drunk driving and prescription drug abuse, working for the victims of child sex abuse by fighting for tougher child protection laws and ensuring our police and firefighters have the resources and tools they need to do their jobs effectively. Rafferty’s other top legislative priorities include improving Pennsylvania’s transportation system, lowering the property tax burden, protecting our environment, reducing health care costs and providing quality care for our senior citizens.
